Default Cloth Diapering

After a couple of terrible cases of diaper rash, I'm thinking of trying about putting away the pampers and trying cloth diapers. I've found a ton of great resources about cloth diapers, and read a couple of reviews on amazon, but wanted to hear about personal experiences with cloth? Did they help with diaper rash, easy to use, etc.
Thanks!

Default cloth diapers are GREAT

My kids are 10 and 13 now and we were dedicated to cloth diapering when they were babies, even when traveling. It was a great experience and you will feel so much better! Not only is it good for the child, but obviously the environment too. Look into all the resources you can. There are all kinds of fancy diaper covers and nice organic diapers these days. Look into a service if you cant launder yourself. I laundered and it was fine. You just have to find a routine, a habit that works for your scheduale and resources. Carry water proof bags and ziplocks for when your out. I had a plastic bucket with lid next to the toilet and when Id wash down the big poos, rinse and put in the bucket and put on the load of wash at the same time each night. It was easy. Your baby will have way less rash. The thing I always hated about disposables (other than the landfill, and full ones people leave laying on a beach or someplace), is that parents dont know the babies potty scheduale and end up leaving a dirty diaper on. With cloth you learn the babies patterns better.
Cloth is awesome, it is totally the way to go these days and is made so much easier now too. And its cheaper! When the diapers come out of the dryer and you put a fluffy warm one on your baby, they will love it.
We even went as far as using flannel to make handy wipes for not so messy times. I hope some of this helps!

I LOVE cloth diapers. I use pocket style diapers, but I have friends who use all the different kinds. I like how simple the pockets are. Isaiah had a horrible rash in his disposable diapers but it vanished immediately with a switch to cloth. If someone babysits and puts him in a disposable, it comes right back.
Even Isaiah likes cloth better. I keep catching him cuddling his (clean) diapers!
