Default finding toys that represent diversity

do you have a hard time with that? i am! i just want a brown baby doll for my son. not a white one. and what's on store shelf after store shelf? varying shades of white babies. white babies that crawl. white babies that talk. white babies that pee. no brown babies at all. there is nothing wrong with white babies. but we already have some, and with varying shades represented in our family, i'd like to have some more diversity in our toys. is this something that is a problem for you?

I have seen a few brown babies at Wal-Mart. Our church collected toys for a women and children's shelter and they were in need of ethnically diverse dolls, so yes, I agree there is a need. We collected some really cute ones too! One had all different colored brown ribbons for her hair--adorable! If you still don't have any luck, I would check online.

i KNOW. boy dolls...come on! a few years back i bought my middle son his first doll as we prepared for the arrival of his baby brother. the best i could do was a baby doll in a purple outfit. lol. man! i grew up always wanting a house full of daughters......i wonder why? lol. i ended up with a a house nearly full of boys that i always thought i never wanted. i LOVE being a boy mom, and i can't help but think about the wall full of white babies in pink outfits....what does that teach our children? everyone should want to have white girl babies? weird.

We got one of my nephews a diego doll. That was the only boy doll there was. Otherwise we do bert and ernie stuffed toys. There really isn't that much to choose from for boys.
