My son is a junior in High School. His life is basically all about baseball.. started at 5 with t-ball and is currently on the varsity team. I don't see him signing with the Yankees. How do I get him to focus on figuring out what he wants to do in life?? Do I buy that HUGE book of majors, an internship? Help

He doesn't need to declare a major right away or even start out at a 4 year university. Taking some basic college credits at a community college and trying out different things to find his other interests might be a good way to go when the time comes.
While getting some dinner table discussion going and maybe seeing about a summer job in an area that might interest him might be the way to go, I wouldn't be overly worried about it yet. Many, many people don't know 'what they want to be when they grow up' as a junior in high school. Good luck! |
