Default Asking work-at-home dad about playdate

The father of a friend of my son's is a work-at-home dad. His son is nearly the same age as mine and they are in the same preschool class. I know they enjoy playing together.

I don't know why but it seems odd calling and inviting him to join in on playdates. It is appropriate to ask the father and son to go to the park with us or meet us for lunch?

I wouldn't think so. It would be a good idea to do, if your son has fun playing and gets a bit of social interaction, something work at home dads tend not to get much of.
